Cuban guitarist Joe Ott in Haiti

For the second time, Cuban guitarist Joe Ott, as part of an exchange with the office of the great Cuban master Léo Brouwer (internationally renowned guitarist and Cuban composer), will be in Haiti to strengthen the capacities of teachers of the Frantz Casséus program for young guitarists. These teachers have the responsibility of teaching classical guitar to the forty young beneficiaries of the program implemented in collaboration with the Holy Trinity Music School.

Recommended by Léo Brouwer, Joe Ott first conducted a workshop in October with two teachers from the young guitarists program (Emmanuel Valcin and Souvenance Merzier). They worked together on basic guitar techniques (arpeggios, chords, coordination bonds) and various classical pieces. They continued this joint activity November 2-9, 2016. A third meeting is planned for the end of this year. By Kristine Belizaire
