Norway promises 50 million to Haiti

On the sidelines of his participation in the World Summit on Education for Development held in Oslo on the 6th and 7th of July, Prime Minister Évans Paul had a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Norway, Erna Solberg. Prime Minister Solberg promised 50 million to support education in Haiti. In an interview with Le Nouvelliste on July 9th in Milan, Italy, Prime Minister Paul announced the signing of an agreement between the two countries.

At the World Summit on Education for Development in Oslo, world leaders discussed the issue of education. "Everyone admitted that there will be no progress and no development without education," added the Prime Minister of Haiti. On the sidelines of the summit, the Norwegian authorities have promised to fund education in the deep south of Haiti (Southeast, Nippes, Grande Anse, South). According to Prime Minister Paul, making Haiti open for business requires many things. "It requires a climate of security, but also a skilled workforce," he said
