Jocelerme Privert: Veteran in public administration

Former Director General of the Directorate General of Taxes, State Secretary for Finance, Minister of Interior and Territorial Communities and now a senator of the Republic, Jocelerme Privert is undoubtedly a veteran in the Haitian political landscape. His integration into public administration began in 1979, the year he joined the DGI as an accounting inspector assigned to the financial audit department at age 23. "My career began on October 1, 1979, the tenth year of my arrival in Port-au-Prince," remembered Privert. "Before being promoted to Director of the DGI, I climbed the ladder in the institution. I have completed 23 years of service." Born in Petit-Trou de Nippes on February 1, 1954, Privert is proud for being a key player in the reform of the Directorate General of Taxation.

While at the DGI, his presence was remarkable in large forums for the performance of the tax administration.
