A brand new building for students of Lycée Jean-Marie Vincent

On October 14th, together with Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ali, resident of the Islamic Development Bank, the Minister of Education, Nesmy Manigat, opened the reconstructed Lycée Jean-Marie Vincent in Tabarre. The reconstruction of this school, which has more than 2,000 students, was carried out by Panexus Haiti SA, a Haitian construction firm with funding of more than 1.6 million USD from the Islamic Development Bank.

Approximately 2,000 students at lycée Jean-Marie Vincent will now receive instruction in a brand new anti-seismic building. Originally constructed in 1999, the school was largely destroyed by the earthquake of January 2010. Its rehabilitation was made possible through Islamic Relief Worldwide, an NGO established in the country after the earthquake, which helped to rebuild the school and three others in the town of Croix-des-Bouquets.
