The Russian presidency declined to say on Monday whether a ceasefire with Ukraine concerning attacks on energy infrastructure is in effect, stating that "contacts" are being maintained regarding this ceasefire unilaterally announced by Donald Trump.
“Contacts are ongoing. As soon as we have something to say on this matter, we will be sure to inform you,” said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov during his press briefing. When asked about Kyiv's call for a total 60-day ceasefire to allow for elections, Mr. Peskov responded: “We do not want a ceasefire, we want lasting peace.”
