From the very first days of the Haitian National Police’s existence, good fairies watched over its cradle. These fairies—friendly countries and multilateral institutions—accompanied the police institution in its first steps and, more than 30 years later, continue to extend a helping hand.

These same countries and institutions have sent troops to Haiti on several occasions since 1994. Even today, foreign forces are deployed in the country.
