Even if they were to resign today, no member of the government or senior state official could be a candidate in the upcoming elections. This restriction is supported by two documents. First, by the National Pact for Stability and the Organization of Elections, and then by the electoral decree. Both documents were published in the official gazette, Le Moniteur.
