Le president chilien José Antonio Kast

In Chile, President José Antonio Kast has opened a crisis unit to trace Haitian children who entered the country last year under suspicious circumstances. Chilean justice authorities are investigating a possible human-trafficking case involving Haitian citizens that could implicate airlines, travel agencies, and lawyers, Radio France Internationale reported on Friday, June 19, 2026.

The investigation was launched following revelations by Chilean radio station BioBioChile, which made public a report by the Court of Auditors.
