Police Enter Village de Dieu, Bastion of the 5 Segonn Gang

Units of the Haitian National Police (PNH) carried out an incursion into the heart of Village de Dieu, the stronghold of gang leader Izo 5 Segonn, on Monday, June 1, 2026. The operation carries strong symbolic significance, as emphasized by the PNH itself, coming five years after the March 12, 2021 massacre in which five elite police officers were gunned down and dismembered by gang members.
