Patrick Almonor, one of the mayors of the commune of Cap-Haïtien, is sounding the alarm over the degradation of the environment in the city. He is calling on the government to declare a state of environmental emergency.

The seven ravines of the commune of Cap-Haïtien are now saturated, as are the drainage canals. The approximately 1,100 gutters in the city have not been cleared for nearly ten years.
