National Carnival to Be Decentralized Again This Year

There will be no host city for the 2026 National Carnival. The festivities will take place in various municipalities across the country. The last time a city hosted the national carnival was in 2021, in Port-de-Paix. President Jovenel Moïse was still in power at the time. Since then, the Haitian State has been financing municipalities so they can organize carnival celebrations in their respective jurisdictions.

This year again, the government has not selected a specific city to host the national carnival. In an interview with
