Inflation continued its annual rise last October, despite a slight deceleration observed on a monthly basis. In fact, the General Consumer Price Index (CPI, base 100 in 2017–2018) increased from 556.4 in September to 564.9 in October, thus recording a rise, both monthly and annually, of 1.5% and 32.2%, compared to 1.8% and 31.9% the previous month, the Haitian Institute of Statistics and Informatics (IHSI) reported in its monthly column titled “The CPI Corner.”
