The U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince announced the arrival of an additional contingent of U.S. Marines to secure its diplomatic mission. The announcement on Thursday came after the Washington Post revealed that US Marines deployed to the US Embassy exchanged fire on the evening of Thursday, November 13, with suspected gang members in Tabarre. The information was confirmed by Captain Steven Keenan, spokesman for the Marine Corps.
