The Great South and the West have been placed under orange alert, up from yellow alert, due to the threats posed by Tropical Storm Melissa, announced Haiti’s Hydrometeorological Unit (UHM).
The announcement was made on Wednesday via the UHM’s communication platforms. “The passage of this storm may cause heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong wind gusts, risks of flooding, and landslides throughout the southern region and the West Department,” the UHM warned.
