New Judicial Year 2025–2026 Kicks Off amid Persistent Challenges

The 2025–2026 judicial year has resumed with the same challenges as the previous one. Justice, the pillar of the rule of law, is still searching for itself.

It was at the premises of the Court of Cassation at the Champ de Mars that the president of said Court officially launched, on Monday, October 6, the resumption of judicial activities for the 2025–2026 year throughout Haitian territory. President Jean Joseph Lebrun sat with nine other judges of the Court and the public prosecutor’s office, headed by Government Commissioner Carvès Jean, assisted by the chief clerk, Pierre-Richard Allonce.
