U.S. State Department Highlights Severe Human Rights Abuses in Haiti in 2024

The U.S. Department of State has released its report on human rights practices for 2024. The document reports multiple serious violations and a significant deterioration of the human rights situation, “due to the state’s inability to protect civilians from the expansion of gang violence and the reduction of individuals’ rights in areas such as freedom of expression.”
