Pilot Center Perseveres Despite Lack of Government Aid

The Pilot Center for Vocational Training (CPFP), the country’s second public technical vocational school, has not abandoned its mission of training young people despite the institution’s limited resources. Like J.B. Damier, this vocational school receives no government subsidies, despite the existence of the National Institute for Vocational Training (INFP), which oversees all public vocational schools in the country.

Located in Drouillard, in the commune of Cité-Soleil, the CPFP has trained generations of young people in technical trades such as electricity, metal construction, auto diesel mechanics, plumbing, building construction, and public works.
