The draft Constitution recently submitted by the Constitutional Reform Commission is facing a major setback. Several magistrates’ associations are speaking out, denouncing a text which, according to them, does not sufficiently guarantee the independence of the judiciary.

The Professional Association of Magistrates (APM) quickly expressed deep concern about the content of the document. In a press release, the organization lamented the absence of concrete guarantees to ensure the autonomy of the judiciary.
