Haiti Joins Convention to Safeguard Cultural Heritage During Armed Conflicts

In a decree dated April 29, 2025, the President of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), Fritz Alphonse Jean, announced the instrument of acceptance and accession of Haiti to the Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict, including its implementing regulations and two protocols. By acceding to this convention, for which UNESCO is the depositary, the country commits to protect, safeguard, and respect cultural property in times of armed conflict.
