On Labor and Agriculture Day, CPT Announces New Economic Recovery Commitments

The Transitional Presidential Council (CPT) marked Labor and Agriculture Day on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the Villa d’Accueil, under the theme: “Let us stand in solidarity with farmers and all workers to ensure our sovereignty.” An official ceremony was held in the presence of seven of the nine members of the CPT, the Prime Minister, several members of the government, security force officials, and senior state officials.

In his speech on Thursday, May 1st, the President of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), Fritz Alphonse Jean, paid tribute to Haitian workers, highlighting their role in the country's survival despite difficult conditions. “Thanks to you, the country will not perish. The CPT hears your cries and sees your tribulations,” he stated, while calling for collective reflection on the actions needed to sustainably improve workers' living conditions.
