Distress Call from the Dean of the Faculty of Law in Support of UEH

The State University of Haiti (UEH) held the investiture of a new Executive Council (CE) during a ceremony at the Montana Hotel on March 13, 2025. New leaders for an UEH that is struggling to operate in a context marked by rampant insecurity. Invited to speak on behalf of the University Council (CU) at the investiture ceremony, the dean of the Faculty of Law and Economic Sciences (FDSE), Eugène Pierre Louis, took the opportunity to raise an alarm about the difficulties facing the largest university in the country.

Eugène Pierre Louis acknowledged that the new Executive Council is installed in a context where UEH is almost on its knees. Beyond structural issues, UEH is facing its destiny in the current crisis. The dean of FDSE painted a grim picture of the current situation at UEH.
