U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken concluded his one-day visit to Port-au-Prince with a press conference at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport diplomatic lounge. Blinken reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting Haiti. As one of the architects of the current dual-executive system, consisting of a presidential council and a prime minister, Blinken expressed gratitude to CARICOM leaders and regional and Haitian actors who have supported efforts to resolve the crisis and facilitate a transition backed by Haitians.<
