According to the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Haiti, María Isabel Salvador, the country is facing a "multidimensional crisis and a security emergency."
"Immediate action is needed on security. However, we cannot neglect everything else. We must move quickly on the security issue, but we also cannot stop working on the political and socio-economic crisis. That's why Haiti's situation is complex," stated the diplomat during a visit to Le Nouvelliste on September 1
