Government Launches Pilot Phase of Targeted Subsidy Program for Transport and SMEs

With just twenty-five days remaining in the 2022-2023 fiscal year, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry organized a ceremony to distribute fuel cards and checks as part of the pilot phase of the targeted subsidy program for public transport vehicles and the support of small and medium-sized enterprises. This activity, part of the multi-sectoral program for social harmony and the reintegration of vulnerable groups established by the government in partnership with the International Monetary Fund, has the "priority objective of improving the living conditions of marginalized segments of the population and combating poverty and social exclusion," stated Prime Minister Ariel Henry at the Montana Hotel on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

The government's social program pilot phase was officially launched on Tuesday.
