Haiti is preparing to host the first Alternatiba village outside of Europe

On the 16th and 17th of October, the Kenscoff Communal Initiatives Centre (CIRK in French) will host the first Alternatiba Village to be held outside Europe. Through this event, the Francophone Action Group for the Environment (GAFE in French), together with the association France volontaire Haiti, will highlight local alternatives that can play an active role in the fight against climate change.

The Haiti Alternatiba Village is one of 15 Alternatiba, a citizens' movement on the climate taking place during the month of October worldwide. GAFE Officials seeking to establish the movement in Haiti participated in several Alternatiba Villages in Europe. The most recent was held in Paris on the 26th and 27th of September.
