Towards the production of quality rice seed in the Artibonite

The valley of Artibonite, in recent years, has benefited from a lot of projects from international cooperation in agriculture, particularly rice production. However, since 2013, a project to strengthen the culture of rice, spread over 5 years, from 2013 to 2018, stands out because of its objectives, from other projects implemented in the valley in the past. Indeed, the pilot project Strengthening rice seed production capacity in Haiti (RECAPSRIH) aims not only to strengthen the quantitative and qualitative production of quality rice seed in the country, but also increase the usage rate of these seeds.

Funded by the Taiwanese government with a portion from the Haitian government, RECAPSRIH focuses on the production of high quality rice seeds which, according to proponents of this project, turns out to be a necessity.
