AMCHAM-Haiti: Haiti is in need of investment

From June 15-17 2015, Haiti hosted the "Business Future of the Americas," the annual Regional Conference of the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America and the Caribbean (AACCLA). A first for the country. "A great success for Haiti" said Philippe Armand, president of the Haitian-American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM-Haiti), one of the organizers of this event.

"The reception was nice and enthusiastic on both sides," said Philippe Armand, a week after the holding of this major conference at the Marriott Hotel in Port-au-Prince. The president of AMCHAM-Haiti believes that the stated goal, namely bringing the Chambers of Commerce together to talk about economic development, regional and continental, was amply achieved. "The important thing was to present the Haitian economy to the outside world," he said, while insisting that the country is ready for investment. "The country is hungry for investments."
