Subcontracting: the minimum wage will increase from 225 to 240 gourdes

The Higher Council for Wages (CSS in French) has submitted its second report this week on fixing the minimum wage by sector in Haiti. According to the report, the minimum wage for the outsourcing sector will increase to 240 gourdes. However, CSS has maintained its recommended minimum wage for other sectors in the first report. Following the recommendations of CSS, the minimum salary for the 2014-2015 fiscal year will be put into effect on January 1st 2015.

After many consultations, CSS submitted its second report on fixing the minimum wage for the 2014-2015 fiscal year. In this report, the CSS changed the classification of companies. Instead of three segments and a special class as was the case in the first report, CSS identified five business segments.
