Preparing for Holidays in Haiti

It is that time of year again…my favorite time of year. With the American holiday Thanksgiving, right around the corner and a brand new year fast approaching, it is time for gatherings with family and friends. A time to reflect on all we are thankful for and spending lazy weekends catching up with a favorite book while sipping some Cola Couronne.

Born, and having spent my formative years growing up in the states, traditions such as Halloween and Thanksgiving are near and dear to me and signal for me the advent of winter and all the festivities that come along with it. Now that I am calling my family’s homeland home, the tropical climate does change things up a bit.
