Retention basins to protect the population

In order to protect people living in flood prone areas, the government, through the Ministry of Environment, will continue to build drainage channels and retention basins for sediment and storm water. The funds are already available for this purpose. Jean-François Thomas, Minister of the Environment visited several works in progress.

Minister Thomas made an assessment by visiting several infrastructure projects in the municipalities of Port-au-Prince and Carrefour on Oct. 3rd.
