Claude-Alix Bertrand, a Haitian polo player, left team Menlo and signed with Polo SF for the season. This move enabled him to establish the first Haiti team in the Sport of Kings. Team Haiti surprised all by winning its first championship on Sunday, August 3, 2014 in San Francisco. They beat Argentina in the semi-finals and the USA in the finals.
