Haitian architect Philippe Fortuney honored in Venezuela

Philippe Fortuney, Haitian builder and architect received first place in architecture for the "Multifamily Residence" from the mayor of Maracaibo, Venezuela's second largest city. He was awarded the prize for his latest building called the "Jaspe Residence." This award is the culmination of this great architect of 69 years of age’s career. He has built no less than 48 buildings from 12 to 18 floors in Venezuela. He is a true role model for young Venezuelan and Haitian architects.

As an architect, developer, and builder, Fortuney has made Venezuela his adopted country for decades, where he designed and built during his inspirational career. Graduated with honors in architecture from the University of Zulia and an active member of the faculty association at the same university college, Fortuney is also a member of the College of Engineers of Venezuela and advisor for the distribution of energy for the Venezuelan electricity company ENELVEN.
