Tourist Attractions Ready for Summer Crowds

During the months of July and August, Haiti experiences its highest volume of tourists. Local, diaspora, as well as foreign vacationers flock in over summer vacation to enjoy patron saint parties throughout the country. The Ministry of Tourism held on Wednesday, July 9th, a press conference to enumerate attractions. Minister of Tourism, Stephanie Villedrouin noted that Haiti received 420,000 visitors last year and hopes to increase that number in 2014.

Surrounded by three Departmental Directors, Minister Villedrouin asserted that despite sensationalized accounts in the media of insecurity and chikungunya fever, “We are ready to receive!
