Japan assisting the Sainte-Thérèse Hospital of Miragoâne

On Thursday, March 20th, Katsuyoshi Tamura,Japanese Ambassador to Haiti, signed a grant to supply medical equipment to Sainte- Thérèse Hospital de Miragoâne along with Hancy Blaima, Medical Director of the Hospital, Realized as part of the Japanese government’s aid for small local projects contributing to human security (APL in French ), a total of 121,785 USD is allotted for the project.

The signing of this contract is part of the project to supply medical equipment to benefit the Sainte-Thérèse Hospital of Miragoâne. The ceremony took place in Pétion-Ville, in the presence of embassy executives and hospital staff. The funds provided by Japan will be used to purchase medical equipment for the hospital which is primarily designed to increase hospital attendance rates, reduce the ratio of maternal and infant mortality, and provide a better service to its patients.
