A free school for the children of Caracol workers

Since October 2013, about 200 children from Caracol have benefitted from a free education through the Sae-A Foundation, the philanthropic body of Sae-A Trading, a clothing export company. On March 26th, the foundation held the official opening of the school on the road leading to the facilities of Sae-A at the Caracol Industrial Park (PIC in French) located in the Northeast Department. Several personalities including Michel J. Martelly, President of Haiti, Pamela White, Ambassador of the United States of America, Sae Chul Oh, Chief Representative of the Korean International Cooperation Agency in Haiti, Woong -Ki Kim, President of Sae-A, as well as representatives of the Inter-American Development Bank attended the inaugural ceremony. After the ceremony, they visited PIC where Sae-A has built three plants, two of which are already operating and employing about 2,000 employees.

"We are here to celebrate this event which after the earthquake, enabled us to bring life to this area,” said Jean Mirvil, Director of the School.
