On February 14th, Dany Laferrière, Quebecker writer of Haitian origin elected to the French Academy on December 12th, 2013, was received at Elysée by President François Hollande. The new immortal met with the French President at 3 p.m. in the presence of Hélène Carrère d'Encausse, Permanent Secretary of the Institute. The Petit-Goâve native was elected to Hector Bianciotti chair with a total of 13 votes out of 23.
