The island of La Tortue has its special development plan

Laurent Lamothe, Haitian Prime Minister, as the head of a delegation of ministers, senators, and members of the island of La Tortue, visited the island on Friday February 7th, to visit the various projects undertaken by the government on the island. This was the opportunity for the Prime Minister to present a special development plan for the island and learn about the urgent needs of the 45,000 souls who live in this corner of the earth.

Jacques Thomas and Rose Anne Auguste, respectively ministers of agriculture and the Fight against Poverty, Deputy Alcilus Gros-Negre of La Tortue, Senators of Port-de-Paix, Lucas Sainvil, and Mélius Hyppolite were some of the authorities present at the presentation of the special development plan for this commune in the Northwest. With an area of 37 kilometers long and 7 kilometers wide, covering an area of just under 180 squre kilometers , the island is located about ten kilometers off the city of Port-de-Paix, which is separated by the Canal
