Ineke Botter, new boss of Haiti’s first company

On Friday, January 31, 2014, Ineke Botter was introduced as the new President and General Director of the mobile phone company Digicel. Botter's mission is to bring changes within the institution and improve the quality of service offered by the company in Haiti.

Of Dutch origin, Botter has over twenty years of management experience in the field of mobile telecommunications. She holds a Master’s Degree in Corporate and International law. She first served as Director of Operations at Digicel Haiti. The new director began her career in finance in the 80s. She made her debut in the field of telecommunications in 1991, when she moved to Kiev, Ukraine, in order to obtain the license for the first mobile network, Ukrainian Mobile Communications (UMC), which is now MTS.
