Caritas-Haiti wants to eradicate hunger by 2025

In the wake of the global campaign against hunger launched Tuesday, December 9th by Pope Francis in Rome on the theme "One human family, food for all" and in the context of the International Day of Human Rights, Caritas-Haiti, is determined to beat hunger in Haiti by 2025.

While tons of food is wasted every minute in the world, one in eight people suffer every day from hunger. All this is due to poor organization and inequitable distribution of global wealth. Caritas- Haiti knows the problem well. "It is unacceptable that people throw food in the garbage while at the same time thousands more are struggling to make ends meet to provide any daily bread," stated Bishop Pierre-André Dumas, President of Caritas Haiti, noting that the issue of hunger should hail the conscience of every citizen.
