German relief ends in the Palmes

On Thursday November 14th, GIZ, a German Cooperation, conducted a closing ceremony for its various activities in the area of the Palmes. The ceremony was attended by municipal authorities and Klaus Peter Schick, German Ambassador to Haiti. This was an opportunity to showcase GIZ’s achievements in the regions’ four towns.

After the earthquake of January 2010, the Federal Republic of Germany immediately saw the need to help Leôgane, Gressier, Petit-Gôave, and Grand-Gôave, the towns which form the region of the Palmes. These communities benefited from the support of the German Cooperation through food distribution, aid and the construction of key infrastructures. The German Ambassador in Haiti believes that the end of this project does not mark the end of the cooperation between Haiti and Germany.
