9th edition of the Port-au-Prince International Jazz Festival

From Saturday January 17-24, 2015, Haiti will host the 9th edition of the Port-au-Prince International Jazz Festival. Belgium, Canada, Chile, France, Germany, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, the United States, Great Britain, and Trinidad and Tobago will be represented at this year’s event. 30 concerts and after hours jam sessions will be offered to the public every evening at various locations.
About 15,000 spectators take part in this annual event. 2015 headliners include:
The Yellow Jackets: A popular jazz fusion group from United States and recipient of two Grammy Awards.
Ranee Lee : A Canadian jazz singer and winner of a Juno Award.
Laurent de Wilde Power Trio : Trio of French jazz pianists.
Étienne Charles : A talented trumpeter from Trinidad and Tobago.
Maya Azucena : An American singer committed to the cause of women around the world.
Tabou Combo: A legendary Konpa group, which will be accompanied by Jowee Omicil, a Haitian jazz saxophonist.
Chardavoine : One of the most promising Haitian jazz guitarists.
