Artibonite: armed gangs attack Petite-Rivière

Armed groups attacked the downtown area of Petite-Rivière in Artibonite early on Monday, October 19, 2026. The assailants reportedly took control of several areas, including Morne Fort and Crête-à-Pierrot. This attack comes in the context of ongoing violence in the Artibonite department, following one attributed to the gang Kokorat San Ras in Gros-Morne on September 28. At least 11 people had been killed and several others injured during that attack.<\/p>
