The OCID Calls for Strengthening Trust in the Electoral Process

With less than three months until the election scheduled for December 13, 2026, the Citizen Observatory for the Institutionalization of Democracy (OCID) calls, in a statement, for the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) and the government to strengthen trust in the electoral process. The OCID hopes that the upcoming decisions regarding the amendment of the electoral decree and the adjustment of the electoral calendar will contribute to this goal. The organization reports concerns expressed by officials and leaders of political parties and groupings regarding the current legal framework and calendar, which purportedly have "difficulties that cannot be resolved by a simple succession of delays or patchwork corrections."
