The Gang Suppression Force (FRG) announced on Tuesday that a new phase of its deployment is underway in downtown Port-au-Prince. Armored vehicles from the force have patrolled several streets in the capital, including Monseigneur Guilloux and de la Réunion streets, as well as Jean-Jacques Dessalines Boulevard, during patrols conducted with the National Police of Haiti (PNH). According to a message posted on X, this initial step aims to allow the FRG to better understand the terrain before gradually taking charge of certain patrols, while the PNH can reinforce its presence in other areas by redeploying officers to support operations in Kenscoff.
