In a statement published on August 26, the OIF reaffirms its support for the Haitian people, who are facing the "disastrous humanitarian consequences of the destabilization of the territory." The organization emphasizes the necessity for the international community to redouble efforts to restore security during this crucial period of election preparation. It recalls that it continues its actions to strengthen the capacities of the Haitian National Police (PNH), support the deployment of the Gang Suppression Force (FRG), and provide technical assistance for the organization of the upcoming elections. More than forty people were killed during the attack on the Kenscoff community, according to the United Nations.<\/p>
