U.S. Embassy Uses Social Media to Target Haiti’s Armed Gangs

For several weeks, the U.S. Embassy in Haiti has been publishing a series of messages on its digital platforms denouncing the actions of criminal groups and encouraging people in their surroundings to report them. In an interview with Le Nouvelliste, Michael Hankey, Senior Advisor at the Embassy, stated that his country also intends to use social media to counter the gangs, who themselves use these platforms to shape their narrative.
