Revolutionizing AI in Haitian Creole: PaleFò Kicks Off Large-Scale Data Campaign

Launched three weeks ago, the PaleFò project, a Haitian Creole voice assistant, has already collected 109,000 audio contributions thanks to the participation of everyday citizens. Its goal? To reach one million voice samples to train an artificial intelligence model capable of accurately understanding and speaking Creole.

Created by Franck Daphnis, Patrick Saliba, and their team, the project was presented on the Panel Magik program on August 6, 2025. It is aimed at both Haitians and artificial intelligence enthusiasts.

"Up to now, all our efforts have been focused on Haitian Creole," emphasized Franck Daphnis. He explained that "the current audio recognition rate is only 40%, mainly due to a lack of suitable samples for artificial intelligence."
