Port-au-Prince Courthouse Relocated Again Amid Ongoing Insecurity

The Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince continues to flee insecurity and has now settled in Fragneau-Ville, in Delmas 75. High state dignitaries took part in the ceremony marking the resumption of judicial activities of the court, presenting it as an achievement rather than an admission of weakness in the face of the deteriorating security situation in the capital.

A major event was held for the relocation of the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince to Delmas 75, in the Fragneau-Ville area. Presidential council members, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, members of his government, representatives of the diplomatic corps, and members of the legal profession paraded through the space as if it were a remarkable feat by the authorities to have left the city of Port-au-Prince in time under the threat of armed gangs.
