Robinson Pierre-Louis Released from Custody Amidst Arms Trafficking and Influence Charges

Attorney Robinson Pierre-Louis, who was imprisoned in July 2022 for arms trafficking and influence peddling related to a seized arms shipment in Port-de-Paix, was granted release from detention on Wednesday, August 7, following a ruling by the Court of Appeals judges. "The case is indeed dead," his lawyer, Reynold Georges, said with satisfaction.

Attorney Robinson Pierre-Louis is temporarily free as of Wednesday. He was granted release from detention following a ruling by Court of Appeals judges Dufresne Guillaume, Joseph Jeudilien Fanfan, and Ocnam Clamé Daméus, who deemed the investigating magistrate Walter W. Voltaire's jurisdiction inadequate for the case.

Judge Walter W. Voltaire had been handling the case involving illegal arms trafficking, ammunition trafficking, influence peddling, and criminal association within the jurisdiction of Port-de-Paix.
