The municipality of Port-au-Prince didn't miss out on the carnival despite the difficulties. Champ-de-Mars witnessed a modest celebration over the three carnival days. While no one expected the carnival to happen in Port-au-Prince due to the tense atmosphere the week before, carnival-goers, mostly youth, responded to the call for the three days.
